Did you know…. that UCAS has just announced their “Clearing” timeline? Clearing is how universities and colleges fill any places they have left. So, between 5th July – 18th October 2022, you could seek courses through Clearing.

Clearing could be for you if…. you are applying after 30th June; if you did not receive any offers; if you have declined your offers using the ‘decline my place’ UCAS button; if you have not made the conditional grades set by your universities of choice; and if you have paid UCAS a multiple-choice application fee.

Key dates for UCAS 2022 applications (including Clearing) are…

  • 30th June (18:00): Undergraduate applications can be entered into Clearing.
  • 4th July: The last date for Extra Choice applications.
  • 5th July: International Baccalaureate results are published.
  • From the 5th July: Clearing opens and vacancies are displayed on the UCAS website.
  • 12th August – 18 August: Results “embargo”. During this time the UCAS portal is not updated, and universities and colleges cannot discuss applications with students or their advisers.
  • 18th August: A Level & BTEC results day. UCAS Customer Teams open for students and advisers. Eligible candidates can seek Clearing choices.
  • 25th August: GCSE results day. This only applies to candidates awaiting GCSE results to confirm undergraduate places.
  • 7th September: The last date for conditional offers to be met or for the ‘Decline my place’ to be used.
  • 28th September (18:00): The last day a 2022 UCAS undergraduate application can be made.
  • 18th October: The last day to access Clearing and for universities and colleges to make decisions.
